Synchronised Swimming

After many years Synchronised Swimming has returned to Cumbria. The following short article has been submitted by Merryll Hunter.

Synchronised swimming is a sport which involves competitors performing synchronised routines in water accompanied by music. It can be done individually, in duets or teams. Synchronised swimming demands advanced swimming skills, and requires great strength,fitness, endurance, flexibility, grace, artistry and precise timing, as well as exceptional breath control when upside down underwater. Synchronised swimming mainly takes place within a club environment. Coaches working within this sport will focus on preparing routines, developing athletesí skills and fitness.
A session is available at Lakes Leisure, Kendal on Wednesdays from 4.30-5:30pm
